WESTON'S MANOR

In 1988, through a generous donation, the Council purchased a landmark, Victorian style home just outside of Olean. This home was converted into a 16-bed community residence for men who suffer from chemical dependency and are at least 18 years old. The minimum stay is 6 months and the maximum stay varies according to the individual's progress in treatment. Recovery planning is individualized and based on the social educational and vocational needs of each resident.

Weston's Manor is a fully staffed facility. Staff members are available to residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. While at the Manor, residents help to create their individual recovery plan for long and short term goals, receive individual and group counseling at the CAReS, Inc. Olean office and attend meetings with counselors at Weston's Manor. They must complete a life skills matrix, participate in day-to-day activities of daily living and achieve progressive goals. Residents are encouraged to attend 7 self-help recovery meetings a week along with developing a sober support system.

Residents have recreational activities available which consists of a weight room, a recently added recreation room, a large backyard area with a basketball hoop and use of the Olean YMCA.

Weston's Manor facilitates referrals t outside programs including Life Skills, Foundation for Change and Community Services. GED and other educational opportunities are also available for residents.

All Cares, Inc. locations, including Weston's Manor, are Tobacco Free facilities. Nicotine Replacement Therapy and continuing support is available to all Cares clients and Manor residents.

Family and friends are welcome to visit Weston's Manor: Saturday, Sunday and Holidays - Noon to 5 pm.
